How to Make The Most of Fall in 2024
As summer winds down and the days are getting shorter, it’s time to start getting excited for fall! Although I love the summer, the heat in Utah can be brutal and a nice chill in the air is welcomed with open arms. To get the ball rolling, I’ve put together a bucket list to show you how to make the most of fall in 2024.
I hope these ideas get you excited for the season and inspire you to make the most of each day. And I’m sorry in advance for how many times I say cozy in this post… it is the official adjective of fall so you can’t really blame me.
Fall 2024 Bucket List
1. Go thrifting for a new sweater
The act of thrift shopping itself is so cozy, but coming home with a new fall staple makes it even better.
2. Go on a Sunday drive to look at the fall leaves
3. Cozy up your space
Fluffy blankets, flannel patterned pillows and fall colors feel so homey and inviting in the fall!
4. Visit a bookstore or go to the library
5. Watch Gilmore Girls
How can we talk about the best fall activities without including Gilmore Girls? If you haven’t seen it (have you been living under a rock?) now is the time to hop on the bandwagon for ultimate fall vibes.
6. Get a fall manicure
Go to the nail salon or, if you’re like me, spend 4 hours doing them yourself. Girlhood <3
7. Make soup or chili
I love this easy taco soup or a copycat Olive Garden Zuppa Tuscana soup. But you can never go wrong with classic chili and cornbread.
8. Carve or paint pumpkins
I usually choose to paint because I hate the mess, but if you do carve pumpkins this season, save the pumpkin seeds! You can roast them in the oven for a yummy snack.
9. Make a fall treat
Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, apple pie, pumpkin bread, apple cinnamon muffins… anything with apple or pumpkin, really.
10. Light fall candles & take a relaxing bath
Ultimate cozy vibes.
11. Go on a scenic walk or hike
Us Utahns really lucked out with the mountains that get even more beautiful when the leaves change. But no matter where you live, get out and bask in the autumn colors.

12. Declutter your space
There’s no better time to clean out your closet, organize your bathroom or deep clean the kitchen than the start of a new season.
13. Do an Autumn puzzle
Does liking puzzles make me a hundred years old? I don’t even care. I love turning on a comfort show or listening to a podcast and making progress on a puzzle.
14. Make a fall themed recipe
This one is giving ‘Pinterest Mom’ vibes. Make ghost pizzas, jack-o-lantern stuffed peppers, or pumpkin quesadillas. Just look it up on Pinterest & you’ll see exactly what I mean.
15. Take a cooking class
Is there anything cozier than making a yummy homemade meal on a chilly autumn day? I think not. If you need a little help, start with a cooking class! This would be such a fun date or girls night.
16. Have a fall picnic at the park
A fall picnic is topping my list this season. I want to bring a big blanket to the park with sandwiches & a thermos filled with hot cocoa and just enjoy being in nature.
17. Go to a local fair or farmers market
18. Watch a football game
I gotta be honest… I’ve always hated football. But my husband looooves it, therefore there’s a lot of football on in our house throughout the season. This year though, as much as I hate to admit it, it feels the tiniest bit cozy. Don’t tell my husband I said that.
19. Get your favorite Starbucks drink
I’m not a coffee drinker, but I will never pass up the Caramel Apple Cider or a hot cocoa.
20. Have a bonfire and make S’mores
21. Go to a pumpkin patch or get lost in a corn maze
22. Make a ‘Boo Basket’ for a friend or neighbor
You can find all kinds of Boo Basket inspo online, but I love the idea of including homemade treats, a halloween movie and a fall candle.
23. Have a Halloween movie marathon
Does anyone remember the Disney Channel movie Twitches? I genuinely though that was a horror movie when I was a kid, the ‘darkness’ scared me to death lol.
24. Eat seasonally
It’s cheaper to buy produce that’s in-season, and it’s also delicious! Look out for pears, brussels sprouts, apples, sweet potatoes, broccoli, grapes, squash, bell peppers, cranberries, pomegranates and of course, pumpkins.
25. Host your friends or family for an Autumnal dinner
A themed dinner with fancy place settings, it’s too cozy. And what a great excuse to go buy everything in the Magnolia section at Target! I’m kidding (kind of).
26. Get comfy and read a book that takes place in the fall
27. Sign up (and train) for a Thanksgiving 5K or other race
I was not born into a ‘run on major holidays’ family. But I think it’s kinda chic and I just might take my own advice and do it this year!
28. Put together a simmer pot to make your house smell amazing
29. Do a fall craft
The DIYs on my list this year include Skeleton Candles, Dried Orange Garland and Cheesecloth Ghosts. Check them out!
30. Make a fall playlist
Coffee shop vibes, chill, calming music. Anything you’d want to be listening to on a chilly, rainy fall day.
31. Watch all the Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving episodes of your favorite show
My #1 comfort show is The Office. If you’re in the same boat, let me save you a Google search 😉 Here are the Halloween episodes to watch this season: S2 E5 “Halloween”, S5 E6 “Employee Transfer”, S7 E6 “Costume Contest”, S8 E5 “Spooked”, S9 E5 “Here Comes Treble”. Happy watching!
There you have it, a fall bucket list to help you make the most of fall this year! Let me know what else you would add, let’s get a community bucket list going!
PS – Don’t forget to save this Pin so you can come back to these ideas!
